Harper's First Christmas

We had a wondeful Christmas and Boppa and Grammy's house! With all the snow we all spent alot of time with each other, it was great fun! Here are some pics from Christmas Day....

Over Christmas Harper discovered that she can "squeal". Here is a video of her carrying on a squealing conversation with her cousin Josh, he is the other baby you can hear but can't see..... (side note: why do I sound so ridiculous?).... make sure you pause the music player before watching...

Play that funky music....

We've discovered a new way to pass the time with Harper. She is captivated by daddy playing the guitar and will sit and listen for quite awhile.....

This is my first video post attempt. You'll want to pause the music on the right hand side of this blog before you press play.

Disclaimer: Daddy has not authorized the posting of a video of him playing the guitar. This was a very popular hobby of his when we first started dating but has been collecting dust over the past couple years. Nothing like a new baby to encourage him to bring the guitar back out and wipe off the dust!

Snow Day

Well it probably doesn't count for a snow day for those of you who live where it actually snows, but we'll take what we can get! We finally had weather for Harper to try out her little snow suit...

Then we spent some time drying out by the fire...

3 months old already!

Harper turned 3 months old on Thursday! It is hard to believe she is already a quarter of the way through her first year. She is changing so much and it is exciting to see what new developments she is going to have each day.

We're continuing to work on "tummy time". She is a real fan of the modified version on daddy....

She is also starting to explore some "big girl" toys.

Here she is practicing sitting.....
She's even beginning to enjoy her jumping exersaucer. Her feet don't quite touch the ground yet, but she's getting close....

Thanksgiving, come and gone already?

We started out Thanksgiving week with heading to our friends cabin on Hood Canal for the weekend. It was apple cup, so of course Harper and I had to share our Cougar pride.....I know, I know they are awful this year, but hey they won!

Harper's new friend Katy was nice enough to read her a book....even though they were cheering for opposing teams...
Then we headed down to grammy and boppa's were as always we ate ourselves stuffed with delicious meals. Harper loved watching her cousins and nobody can get her to carry on a conversation as well as her boppa can! I was very bad at taking pictures, but luckily auntie Lori snapped a few.....

Allie, Auntie Lori's mom Nancy and Ms. Harper....
Sisters.....

Dad, Millie, Boppa and Josh....

We made an early return from Vancouver to watch my brother's football team play in a state playoff game Friday night....they won...yeah! So we will be watching them play in the 3A state football championship game this Saturday....go Union!!!

Lastly we had a wonderful post-Thanksgiving dinner at auntie Chelle and uncle Greg's house on Saturday with family. Harper's cousin Makenna, who turned 6 this summer, was able to hold Harper and feed her a bottle which they both enjoyed!

Now I can't believe it's December already! Thank goodness for online shopping!

New Pictures

This past weekend while we were down at grammy and boppa's Chris, Harper and I visited our friends Jess and Kathy. Kathy is getting ready to have her own little one any day now...yeah!!! While we were there they snapped a few shots of Harper that they have passed along. Thought I would share as I've been a little lax at taking pictures lately....oops.

Ms. Harper flirting with the camera.....

Smiling at Daddy......

Hanging with Kathy....before you know it Kathy you'll be snapping a photo with your own little sweetheart....

Sleeping in

It's been awhile since we've had a post, mommy and Harper spent the last week down at Grammy and Boppa's.....we had a great time! Harper also decided to start giving mommy and daddy back their nights of sleep and she is so excited about it.....

For a week now she's been going to bed around 7 and sleeping until 6:30 or 7 in the morning. To make it even more official last night we dropped the 10 pm dream feed and she still slept right on through. Yeah! Here she is smiling back at mommy who is so well rested.....

2 months old already!

Harper's Noni Steffanie came to visit this past weekend. It was so great for the 2 of them to have the time together.
Harper turned 2 months old on election day and had her appointment today for her first round of vaccinations. I have to say I was very nervous and didn't know how I would react. She was a champ, cried for about 30 seconds and was over it. I on the other hand broke out in to laughter when she started bawling. I have no idea why, I guess the choice was to laugh or cry and I chose to laugh. The nurse said that surprisingly they have lots of parents who laugh instead of shedding a tear, amazing how we chose to show our emotions :) Our little girl weighed in at 11 lb 15 oz. and 23 1/2 inches long....she's growing!

Quack...Quack...Quack

Although we didn't buy a Halloween costume for Harper we have a one piece ducky sleeper that we were given as a gift. Harper dressed up in it on Halloween in honor of daddy's favorite holiday.

We stopped by mommy's work to make the rounds and check out everyone's costumes. Auntie Tina was dressed up as an oil slick, so Harper posed as a duck caught in the mess. Too cute......

Happy Halloween

We decided that Harper was a little too young this year to take trick or treating, really the candy would be for daddy and mommy and we certainly don't need it. However, we couldn't let the holiday pass without dressing up in some fashion. Grammy Kathy purchased matching Halloween outfits for Harper and her best bud Kaitlyn this summer. We dressed them up today and snapped some photos. Let's just say I wish I was better at photoshop so we could make the best picture. It's hard to snap a photo of a 8 week old and a 20 week old together.....maybe next year!

Smile for the Camera

I know....2 posts in one day!

Harper is beginning to smile more consistently now, but we're having trouble capturing the full smile on camera. While I'm still failing to get the complete Harper smile, I snapped these today......we're getting closer......

We are Family....

Harper had her first trip overnight to grammy and boppa's this weekend. Chris got a chance to catch one of Cale's football games and my girlfriends and I threw a shower for Kathy on Saturday, who is due with her baby girl this December. Saturday night we had dinner with the family and some long time family friends.

It came time to get the little ones ready for bed. Harper had started her bath when Lori decided Josh could use a quick rinse, which he took in the bathroom sink. Allie then joined in to see what all the fun was about. We snapped a few photos and were luckily able to capture this memorable moment.......

Sleeping Beauty.....

I should have taken a picture this morning of Harper in her crib because it was a monumental night. Ms. Harper slept from 7:30 last night until 6:15 this morning (with the help of a dream feed at 10 pm, one of the best things ever!) and woke up all smiles.

Although this was a great night for Harper I don't want to get my hopes up that it is now going to be a regular occurence, but it would be fantastic if it was.

Of course I was awake from about 4:30 on just waiting for her to wake up.....now if only mommy can train herself to sleep through the night again.......

Bath Time.......

.........one of Harper's favorite times of the day, followed by one of her least favorite times of the day which is getting out of the bath.

We snapped a few photos during last nights bath and thought we would share.

Harper loves looking at herself in the mirror ........
and when daddy blows on her tummy......

What's new....

Harper's grammy Kathy has been here visiting for the week and it has been so nice to for both mommy to have the extra set of hands and Harper to get to spend some bonding time with grammy.

We had our one month check up yesterday and are happy to report that Harper is as healthy as can be. She's weighing in at 9 lb. 14 oz. and measuring 22 1/4 inches......

One Month Old!

Harper is officially one month old today! She's such a big girl now she can sit in the chair all by herself......

Well, okay maybe not for very long.....
But she seems content no matter how she lands....
