Who is the baby of the house......

This morning while Harper was taking a nap my two baby boys (Alki and Gibson) both needed some "mommy" time. I think they are confused about who is the real baby of the house.......

In my big girl bed....

Harper has officially made the transition to her crib! We had originally thought she would be in our room for a few weeks but soon discovered neither of us did well waking up to every grunt and groan. She then transitioned up to her crib but still in the moses basket.

We're now sleeping in our crib like a big girl.........

......with the aid of our little "nest", a wonderful trick we learned from Auntie Lori and cousin Josh!

A Fun Visit

This weekend we were lucky to have Auntie Lori, Cousin Josh and our dear friend Kathy come to visit Saturday. It was nice to lay around and catch up and enjoy each others company. Thanks again to all of you for making the trip up to see us.

It has been a little over a month since we had last seen Josh and oh my goodness has that boy grown! Initially Josh was measuring right in the 50th percentile and we wondered what sport he might play in the future. He is now just over 4 months old and measuring at the top of the charts. Josh should have no problem wherever he wants to go in the athletic world :)

Here are a couple pictures of the cousins together....seeing Josh was a reminder to Chris and I to enjoy every moment with Harper and her tiny little self because they grow so fast!!!

Brewing up something special....and look what I lost!

These 2 events don't really go together but hey I've got to take the time to post when I can find it:

Harper Brew

Last Friday Chris brewed a new batch of beer, it's been a couple months since his last and he decided he needed to make a Harper brew. Does it make us bad parents if we celebrate the birth of our child with a tasty beer? Anyway, since it has been a long time since I have been able to enjoy his concoctions he let me pick the flavor. We're trying a fall flavored cranberry wheat recipe. I'm sure it will be fantastic and some of you may just be lucky enough to sample it for yourself!
Goodbye Umbilical Cord

This Saturday Harper said goodbye to the remnants of what kept her going for the past 9 months and decided to show us her cute little belly button:

I know babies can't smile by choice this early on, but doesn't it look as though she's smiling, pointing at her belly button and saying "look how cute I am":

Capturing the Moments

Okay, so I realize that you can only post so many different pictures of a one week old. How many ways can you capture her sleeping :)

Last night Harper and I took an unexpected nap together and Daddy caught us on camera. I was looking at the picture this morning and thinking about how fast I know she will grow up and won't be this tiny bundle that can nap so easily on my chest. We are learning quickly to capture these moments that leave such a special place in our hearts:

I've also decided she is quite the "voguer" she loves to pose her hands in the cutest places while sleeping. Auntie Lori, I know she's not swaddled the right way in this blanket but she loves it! Thank you also to Josh and Allie for passing on their snuggly moses basket.

Adjusting to a New Way of Life....

We are so happy to have our beautiful little girl here and are enjoying and adjusting to our new routine. It is a mutlitude of emotions that we could never truly appreciate before. We are constantly amazed that we created this little girl! Here are some pictures of our first few days home:

Sleeping is a skill she has down:

But she does spend some time awake:

And the dogs are definitely making a new friend:
